Rishi Garg Bids Farewell To Twitter

The Vice President of Corporate Development at Twitter decides to part from the company.

It seems like the Vice president of Twitter Corporate Development Segment, Mr. Rishi Garg, is all set to bid farewell to the company. He mentioned about his sudden and astonishing departure via a tweet on his official Twitter account.

Mr. Garg’s service to the company was short-lived, since he joined the company last year in May. He was awarded the position of the Vice President and the responsibility to look after the company’s mergers and acquisition team. Under his able guidance, the company made several major achievements in terms of mergers and acquisitions.

The most influential acquisition was that of Periscope, the live video broadcast app, which it bought for more than $100 million in April. Periscope has observed major rounds since its launch last month. Twitter, the social media giant, has come up with several updates that will allow them to improve their services in a relatively short period.

Only a few days ago, the microblogging enterprise also launched its web replay feature due to complaints observed, where users stated that mostly the streams used to end before they actually got a chance to preview them. The app was initially catering to Apple Inc.’s iOS clients and recently started to cater to Google’s Android consumers.

During Mr. Garg’s tenure, another milestone acquisition was achieved. The company at this time was successful in acquiring the digital advertisement company, Niche, which was bought in February for an amount of $50 million. The Niche application is a tool that allows advertisers to integrate and link with content developers on Twitter’s much-hyped Vine platform along with a few others.

Before Mr. Garg joined Twitter, he was actually working in the same department at Square Inc. – the internet payment solutions provider. Before joining Square Inc., he offered his services to MTV Networks, Google Inc., and Catalyst Partners. At this point, he has not really revealed where he will head to after departing from the social media platform.

Earlier, the chief executive officer of the social media platform, Mr. Dick Costolo, helped the company to excel to newer heights. He decided to bid farewell to the company after five years of vigorous service. His departure became a treat to investors since the company stock experienced a surge, as soon as this news was revealed to the public. So now, the company will have to look for a new CEO and a replacement to Mr. Garg.

The corporate giant’s next step should be to carefully assess the candidates and hire a suitable CEO.
