Twitter Launches New Feature 'Moments' Similar To Snapchat
Moments will be available on Twitter's new update where there will be live updates and users don't have to specifically follow anyone.
Twitter has launched a new feature in its new update called ‘moments’, which is quite similar to the Snapchat worldwide live stories. It will be comparatively a faster way of sharing news. Social media news states that the users will be able to get related updates and tweets with the Moments. For this, they will not have to follow any other specific users. Snapchat live stories have gotten a lot of fame and this new ‘moments’ feature is very similar to that in many ways.
Since ‘Moments’ will be instant news for the users as soon as they click on the lightning bolt icon, it will launch a live news update starting with an introduction, a title, and description, and users can access related tweets, vines, basically everything related to that specific story.
Unlike Snapchat, which does not provide the facility of sharing the live update, Twitter will let the users retweet the whole ‘moment’. The new users, who usually have a hard time sticking to the microblogging platform, will be able to explore without following users at the beginning. This will help the social platform to keep its customers interested in the product, which was an issue for this social media giant in the past.
Initially, ‘Moments’ was called the Project Lightning by the company, and now it had plans for several interesting updates of this product. Previously, user had to click on what is trending on the application to get latest news updates, which now will be much convenient. The social media site currently has 316 million users, which is a very small number if compared to Facebook and Snapchat. However, it is optimistic about changing this from the latest features.
Twitter Inc. is making many changes in the way they want their business to be now after Jack Dorsey’s official reassignment as CEO. First, it launched the ‘buy now’ button taking a huge step toward e-commerce and now it launched another new feature, ‘Moments’.
Evidently, the board knows what it is doing. It is focusing on literally every micro tool, from social media advertising, marketing, blogging, to keep fresh users’ interest alive. The company is striving towards success by not leaving any single point behind. It is struggling to move ahead and compete with mega-giants that are currently dominating the market. Many companies are now focusing on streaming of live events.
Twitters stock closed at $27.62 on October 6.
