Samsung A Public Safety Network

Samsung is providing customers with a LTE public safety network in South Korea.

Samsung has never been afraid to cross innovative boundaries in order to give its customers what they desire and demand. The company is now giving its customers an LTE public safety network for the first time which will now be a part of its network equipment and devices in South Korea.

The tech giant made the announcement on its blog saying that this was the world’s first network of this category via the LTE technology, which will be using 3rd Generation Partnership Project standard. The Galaxy maker showcased this feature back in June 2015 to the government officials in order to win the order. The South Korean tech company will be giving its customers a failsafe network, in case the networks become overloaded and stop working, the customers will not have to worry about it.

Samsung will be launching the public safety network in Seoul; this is also where the main control center of the network will be situated. It will expand to other areas of South Korea, which is the main goal of the company, providing customers with a nationwide coverage of emergency till next year. After its launch in Seoul, the network will expand to the east of Gangwon province in the beginning of the current year.

The tech organization is a well-known manufacturer of mobile phones which is providing its users the chance to never worry about their network going down. The company offers technology such as IP-Multimedia Subsystem, virtualized EPC, Push-To-Talk server and many other facilities and features.

This public safety project is worth $2 billion which could prove to be a healthy investment as the police, firefighters; the government will be able to use this network in cases of emergency. South Korea is the home of Samsung, and this is where we will be able to witness the public safety network for the first time ever. This decision by the company came into being after the Sewol Ferry disaster in 2014, which the government of the country took into consideration and had been making efforts to attain an emergency network when a disaster takes place. This disaster caused 300 deaths of high school children, and the government does not want an incident of this kind to repeat.

The tech giant will benefit through this launch because the devices that will offer this facility will cost more in comparison to other devices of the company. This will help the business generate more profit and achieve higher margins, because the devices are going to be custom made.
