McDonald's Japan Sets To Roll Out Supersized Big Mac

The Giga Big Mac has 2.8 times more meat than the ordinary Big Mac.

McDonald’s in Japan has introduced a scrumptious “Giga Big Mac.” The new burger is the supersized version of the Japan’s most popular burger – Big Mac.

The Giga burger has 2.8 times more meat than an ordinary Big Mac, which is also said to have 30% more meat, and it has four patties as compared to the latter’s two. Similar to the U.S. version, the Japan’s Big Mac also has the layering of mustard, onion, lettuce, cheese, pickles, sweet relish, special mayonnaise-based sauce, and cheese. It will come with a price tag of $9.90 – almost double the price of the regular Big Mac; i.e. $4.6.

The Golden Arches is reported to have said that the new sandwich will give “a satisfied sense of accomplishment” to the diners, as reported by Japan’s RocketNews24.

The grand sized burger will be accompanied with equally supersized sidelines. The fast food titan will be introducing gran size French fries and soft drinks, which will be significantly bigger than the largest sizes currently been offered by the company at the restaurant chains throughout the country. Drinks will be double the regular quantity of the “large size” and French fries will be 1.7 times bigger. Big Mac burger menu is accompanied with Nanoblocks awesome set.

On a lighter note, for consumers, conscious about not getting the snack fit into their mouths, McDonald’s has an alternative option; dubbed as Grand Big Mac. The latter has two extra-large beef patties instead of the four.

McDonald’s has been innovating in Japan for long. After the horrendous food scandal, the company’s sales in Japan also slowed down. Therefore, the Golden Arches is grabbing every opportunity to gain back the trust of the loyal Japanese customers. This is not the first time the company is introducing innovation in its menu, particularly in Japan. Earlier this year, the fast food giant introduced chocolate covered French fries, named “McChoco Potato.” After the introduction of the snack, the sales rise reasonably.

McDonald’s is coming up with strategic ideas to efficiently operate in the Asian region. The strong dollar had negatively impacted the purchasing power of the budget conscious customers in the markets outside the U.S. but, Oak Brooks, Illinois based organization came up with different strategies to boost the sales in the region. Earlier, it also changed the recipe of its decade old burger in India.

McDonald’s has already introduced a similar menu in 2014. The company tested the menu by introducing a Big Mac with four patties. Dubbed as “Mega Big Mac”, the menu rolled out in South Korea, Japan, Turkey, and Ireland. In the U.S., consumers can conveniently order double patties in their Big Mac.

With a gap of a year or so, Mega Big Mac has made its appearance in Japan with a different name. The menu will hit the counter on April 6 and will be available for the limited period. Additionally, the number of servings of the burgers will also be limited at the outlets.
